20lbs of pasta later......

I have spent a lot of time with my family these past couple weeks and have to say the olivastri clan is pretty badass.  The previous weekend my great grandma passed away, I got to see a lot of family I haven't seen in a long time and it was pretty cool.  My grandma made to 93 years and had 10 children, 34 grandchildren, and 50 great grandchildren,  so as you can imagine my family is pretty ridiculous in size.  I found out a lot of them live around down here, many within just 15-20minutes.  I was really impressed with the amount of people that showed up just to pray the rosary (the fam is old school catholic), there were about 80 people just for that.  It was definitely a long funeral, it took about 3 days total with visitation and all the ceremonies. It was kind of sad though because my brother said, "That's the end of that generation" and made me think about how quickly life really does go by.

On a lighter note when I was talking to my cousin jim at the funeral he mentioned there is a really good brazilian jiu-jitsu/muay thai school that he thought was close to me called "The Warrior Way". So I looked it up and found out it's only 4 miles from me.  So I went down there for the free introductory classes and it was awesome. There are a bunch of blue, purple, brown, and black belts in brazilian jiu-jitsu there. Plus the Muay Thai instructor is actually from thailand and holds 2 championship belts.  Also the current king of the cage champion in my weight class trains there as well so there is tons of awesome guys there I can learn a lot from. Classes are like $100/mo but you get unlimited training so I figure I am going to sign up and get my money's worth.

This past weekend was my brothers graduation.  My mom went a little out of control, but probably figured it was the last hooray, my dad actually joked around with me and said, "Holy shit we made it to the finish line, woohoo!" We ended up probably having around 300 people show up altogether.  There was a guy playing keyboard for the party, and my mom made ridiculous amounts of food, or so we thought. We ended up going through 20lbs of pasta in like 6 hours.  I got to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a long time and it was definitely fun. My brother I guess wants to be an electrician and already has an apprenticeship lined up and starts this week. So congrats Screech .

As I was leaving town, Bill wanted to stop and see his dad for fathers day.  I didn't get to see Randy the whole weekend because it was his sons 3rd birthday (happy birthday Mehki!).  Well Randy lives a few blocks from Bills parents so I met up with him.  He took me over to his brothers house to show me this car (his brother does body work).  Well the car he was working on was ridiculous, it was a 900 Horsepower Toyota Supra.  He took me for a ride in it and I about shit myself when he got on the pipe.  It was by far the fastest car I have ever been in, and he didn't even use the nitrous on it.

So overall my summer has been badass so far. Also I forgot to mention that previous weekend Chooch came and hung out with jib, zach, and yassine coming up from Ann Arbor. We had a good time, he bought Fresh guitar hero 2 for his birthday, which I have to say is a badass game. Also Chooch is a god at guitar hero.  Well we have Chooch talked into moving back to Michigan in september. I will be moving back down here in december after school is done, so there is a good chance you may see some dronebox tracks getting dropped again.
